Happy Weekend….And an Honor For Me!

Wow!  Sweetwater Style has the honor of being the Featured Blog on the “Lovin’ the Weekend Blog Hop!

My bloggy friends know all about how vital Link Parties and Blog Hops are for growing readership….so I know they will all join in the fun!

But for those of you who are “readers” not “writers”…I hope you take a moment to hop over and take a look at some of the blogs on the HOP!  The information is at the bottom of the post!

I have had a busy week….the most fun was taking my mom to her 65th class reunion!
It was fun driving on all the country road revisiting her memories AND mine!

Here is the farm where my mom grew up and where I lived with her, my brother and grandparents when my dad was in Korea.

Don’t you wonder how many times my mom has walked down this road!

I think I remember that the mailbox was down the road from the lane.

This is the next house my grandparents lived in.  I spent many summer days here….

This is the house where my grandmother taught me how to sew! 

This is the house (hospital) where I was born!

So you can see we had a wonderful time revisiting old times!

Now…

We “newbie bloggers” couldn’t do it without them.  I believe that “Style is the perfection of your point of view”! I blog to share the process of finding that point of view…and to let people know that being creative in a thrifty way is possible for anyone.  Alas, things are hardly ever perfect, but the process is thoroughly enjoyable. I am not a decorator….but I decorate. I am not a florist….but I arrange a mean bouquet. I am not a tailor…but I can refashion clothing. I am not a carpenter….but I can use power tools. I am: a teacher, wife, empty nester, crafter, thrifter, reader, writer, seamstress, gardener and sometimes (not often)cook!  Stop by often to visit and see what I am up to!“

    Congratulations on being featured, Mary. That is a wonderful honor! I love how good all the buildings look where you grew up. Time has been good to them and they have been well taken care of. Our old farmhouse was burned down and the barns taken down. It was hard to go back and see that when my brother died last February. It's wonderful that your old stomping grounds are well maintainted. xo Diana
