Long about a Saturday night
A rub-a-dub, just relaxin’ in the tub

But alas….too much soaking can make my already dry skin even drier!
AND
I have enough skin sensitivity to be afraid of many commercial bath products….
AND
I am too cheap to spend what they cost!
Read on to discover the “Sweetwater Style” solution!
My Thrifty Recipe
2 parts Lavender Epsom Salts (from Target)
4 parts Baking Soda (huge bag from CostCo)
1 part Sea Salt (CostCo)
A little Coconut Oil (Cub Foods)
Combine the first 3 ingredients in a large bowl
Heat the coconut oil so that it is liquid (only to 75 degrees)
pour that on top of the dry ingredients and stir
Use your hands to mix the oil into the dry ingredients….
as the coconut oil cools it will become lumpy and mix in sort of like oil into pie crust….
There you have it!
Some great, natural, great smelling bath soak!
I keep this in a large ceramic container on the tub edge…..
AHHHHH!

  • The green glass container holds regular old “Ivory Liquid” Dish Soap that is my thrifty “bubble bath”!
  • Ivory Liquid is great for my sensitive skin….
  • The little glass container is pure Coconut Oil…solid because in the cooler months my bathroom is not above 75 degrees 🙁
  • I use Coconut Oil as a moisturizer all winter….try it….it is amazing!
You COULD buy 1 envelope of Lavender Bath Salts for $5……
Yeah….right!

But I decided that it would be way more fun to package my own for the gift closet!

I have these cute little transparent box/bags that I scored at AxMan Surplus for 25 cents a piece…. because they have advertising printed on them….

No problem…..I just covered it up with a folded piece of scrapbook paper!

I Hand wrote a little message on the card……

Filled a ziplock bag with the bath salts…
    Found A spoon….
    Some tissue paper…..
    A pretty ribbon…..

And I have a pretty nice little hostess gift….for a pretty nice little price!
     Now THAT is Sweetwater Style….
I bet I could use the little folded gift bags from this post too!
    hmmmm
what about adding a coordinated candle and matches too?
