ox·y·mo·ron  (ks-môrn, -mr-)
n. pl. ox·y·mo·ra (-môr, -mr) or ox·y·mo·rons

A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist.
OR….Manly Craft Project
While there probably are “manly crafters”and some crafts that are “manly”
but you have to admit that most of the crafts we do are sort of “girlie”!
Mr. S. puts up with my crafting….sometimes even giving a grudging “that’s kind of clever” comment to my latest project…..
But wait ’til you see this craft project…..
It’s about wool…..
It’s about beer….
What could be more “manly” than that!!!?
This Beer Koozie was a freebie I picked up when we went to see the Greenwich Vintage display the Sweetwater Son-In-Law had at Northern Grade last year!
You can get yourself one of these at the Stormy Kromer website for a “mere” “6.99”!!
The fabric stash has lots of scraps of wool….no doubt this could be recreated for almost NO money!!!
Supplies:
Wool scraps cut into 4inch by 11 inch rectangles

2 inch strips of wool ribbing cut to 7 inch lengths (a cut up a wool sweater from GW  was the perfect solution)

Cut the strips of wool….

Fold in half and sew the long sides together to make an open topped “bag”

Turn inside out and press flat

Cut a notch on each side of the bottom to form a flat bottom for the bottle

Cut your ribbing strips from the sweater….

Sew the ribbing into a circle and fold over to form a cuff

Put the right sides of the wool and the ribbing together at the top

Serge the ribbing to the wool

Turn the ribbing cuff to the outside and press flat
Insert beer bottle…..Enjoy!

Not only did this project get the seal of approval from Mr. S…..
He actually suggested I make some that HE could give to friends!!!!

HMMMMMM…..Maybe I should design some snazzy label to add a personal touch!
What do you think?
Have A Great Day…..
